The Coast Christian School has been established on the understanding that God in Christ Jesus wishes to be involved in children’s growth and development, just as much as he wishes to establish relationships with all people. God allows people to determine their lives and to accept or reject his principles as recorded in the Bible. Numerous families enrol their children in Christian Schools so that family and school can partner together in raising children to know God as their loving Heavenly Father; to know that God made the universe in which they live; and to know how to live in His wonderful world, damaged though it is, in right relationship with Him and one another.

The Coast Christian School therefore seeks to be a Christ-centred learning community where teachers and students care for and accept each other, where students are valued and encouraged to learn as they grow, and where Christ is Lord of all that happens.

As a Christian learning community The Coast Christian School

  • Recognises Christ as Lord of the school in all areas of its activities
  • Seeks to honour God in its curriculum by basing it on biblical principles
  • Values all its members as people created in God’s image, and encourages them to care for each other as Christ does, and to work cooperatively for God’s glory
  • Has governance and management personnel who acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord and who make policies and decisions prayerfully
  • Has teachers and support staff who acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord, and live God-honouring lives
  • Has students who are loved, nurtured and encouraged to grow into a lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Recognises the responsibility of parents for their children’s education and the role of the Church and State in education
  • Cooperates with other Christian schools to advance God’s Kingdom

The Coast Christian School acknowledges the privilege and responsibility of educating its students, and continually seeks to develop and improve in its practices to achieve quality education in a nurturing environment, based on God’s word.
