About parents
Parental involvement
Parents are welcome at the School and are encouraged to participate in the School’s life and development in a variety of ways. Indeed, this is a highlight of the School, which supports the concept of family and community involvement. We recognise that parents retain the biblical responsibility for their children’s education, and that this is enhanced when parents are involved in the children’s learning environment. Further, we seek to be a community not just of children and teachers, but also of parents and other adults.
Opportunities for parent involvement include:
- Assisting teachers with class lessons (eg reading groups)
- Lesson preparations at School (eg photocopying worksheets) or home
- School working bees
- School canteen
- Powertalking (prayer group)
- Parents and Friends meetings held once a term
- Prayer Nights for the whole School family held once a term
- Annual School Church Service
